Face powder is something that I find I cannot live without. It is a necessity in my life. I almost feel as if I have shiny face phobia. I am one of those people who has greasy as opposed to dry skin and if someone was to take a photo with a flash and I have not powdered, the result as I would say is...diabolical!
I have used a few face powders in my life and I thought I would share my experiences of them with you.
My first face powder I used was the trusty 'Creme Puff Powder Compact' by MaxFactor. This
averages at around £5.99 and comes in a variety of shades. However, I always go for translucent because it means you will never get the wrong colour. It comes with a sponge applicator which is really good if you need to reapply your powder during the day but be sure to wash this regularly.

I have also tried 'Natural Collection Loose Powder' from Boots. I didn't enjoy loose powder
one bit! I found it really hard to load my brush without getting powder absolutely everywhere and it's not the easiest type of powder to apply when you are out and about. Also I found it didn't stay put for long. Retailing at £1.99 it's ideal if your face tends not to get too shiny but otherwise I would say try something else.
One Christmas I received the No.7 'Light pressed powder'. This is a beautiful powder, one of my favourites that I have tried so far. However, at the price of £11.50 is it really worth it? The compact does consist of a mirror which is always useful and the powder once applied does stay in place for many hours. One tip: if you do not need a mirror, make sure you purchase the one that comes without the mirror - its cheaper!

However, after watching a Tanya Burr YouTube video, it is going to take a lot to stop me from using the Rimmel London 'Stay Matt Powder'. I watched Tanya rave about it and so had to try it myself. She was right. Averaging at around £3.99 this powder is excellent value for money and I highly recommend it. One criticism is the packaging. I found the casing to crack which is a shame. But it does what it says on tin so give it a go if you have not yet tried it!

So let me know what you think and tell me about your face powder experiences. Do you recommend any particular one?
Love,
